What we do
Our crew attend the most serious of incidents and carry out life-saving advanced procedures on scene before transferring patients to the hospital.Â
We are a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS)
Our team of doctors and paramedics carry life-saving equipment on board the helicopter and critical care cars which means they take an emergency department directly to the scene of some of the most serious incidents in Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire. Our crews work closely with the ambulance service, first responders, Police, Fire & Rescue and other emergency services such as HM Coastguard.
Whether beachside, roadside or in the countryside, day or night, we are by your side when you need us most.
4
We attend on average 4 potentially life-saving missions a day.
365
Your support means we can operate 365 days a year, 24 hours a day
£0
We receive no government or NHS funding for our daily missions
Our highly-skilled doctors, paramedics and pilots give critically ill and injured people their very best chance of survival
Our HEMS doctors and paramedics carry out procedures such as delivering anaesthetics, emergency blood transfusions and administration of advanced pain relief – procedures usually only possible in a hospital.
The crew use night vision goggles to respond to incidents day or night.
Our critical care cars
In addition to the helicopter, we run two critical care cars. Our Nottingham car operates in Nottingham City Centre and the surrounding area. Our second car responds when incidents take place in built-up areas with restricted helicopter access, or when bad weather prevents flying.
Our dedicated patient & family support team
We know that being involved in a serious incident or medical emergency can change your life dramatically.
Whether you’d like any questions answered, or simply would like someone to talk to, we are here to support your recovery every step of the way.
