Christmas lights fundraising spectacle for LNAA
A North Lincolnshire home decked out with thousands of Christmas lights is set to shine bright this Christmas for Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.
Ross Carrick and his father, David have spent 17 years collecting the colourful decorations in order to put on this lavish display of Christmas cheer at David’s home in Hibaldstow. Ross shares his passion for creating this yearly spectacle:
“I have loved Christmas for as long as I can remember. Not really sure where it comes from as my mum and dad aren’t huge fans but as a child, all I wanted was to be driven around, looking for those houses covered in lights. When I was old enough, it dawned on me that I could be one of those houses and I’ve never looked back. My parents always said I would grow out of it but it’s actually quite the opposite, I’ve grown more into it! I can remember those houses I looked at as a child, so to be able to create those memories for the next generation is something I hope I can do.
Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance is our chosen charity
Over the years we’ve raised money for several local and national charities. When choosing one for this year, we soon decided it was going to be local but at the same time, a county-wide one that people have heard of and provides a service that we never know when we might need. After doing a bit of research and finding out that every time the helicopter takes off, it is through money raised through fundraising , it was a no-brainer to make Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance our chosen charity this year.
This year you can see a display different from any display we’ve ever done before. There’s Santa in every mode of transport you can think of, penguins, polar bears, nutcrackers, and carol singers, all amongst over 20,000 lights!”
The lights are on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in December 4-9 pm. People can donate using the bucket and QR code on the front of the house or make an online donation through their Just Giving page
