The AJ Bell Great North Run is the world’s biggest and best half marathon, with 60,000 runners taking on the 13.1 mile route from Newcastle to South Shields each year.
It’s famous for its inclusive atmosphere, unbeatable on-route entertainment, and warm Geordie welcome, not to mention the millions raised each year for worthy causes.
From the rush of thousands of cheering spectators to the oggy-oggy-oggy chants, Great North Run magic can be hard to understand – until you’ve experienced it for yourself.
How to Enter
There are two ways you can join us at this event:
Get a Charity Place
To join the waiting list for Great North Run 2026 please email challenges@ambucopter.org.uk
Use Your Own Place
If you are lucky enough to receive a ballot place in the Great North Run 2026, and would like to join #teamhelimed29, email challenges@ambucopter.org.uk to sign up and we will send you a LNAA running t-shirt – there is no minimum fundraising amount, simply raise as much as you can!
