During the December months, five houses across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire created an illuminating spectacle in aid of LNAA.  Hours of preparation during November paid off as people flocked to see the eye-catching spectacles. Together these five light shows raised over £10,000 in support of our life-saving work.

Val, Mick and Jacky from Ruskington, have been supporting and volunteering for LNAA for 30 years. Year after year they put on magnificent lights display (pictured above) that covers both of their houses and gardens. They also cater for a very special guest during their light switch on night – allowing the long line of children to meet Mr & Mrs Claus and receive an early Christmas present.

Jackie said: “I love doing it, it gives me a Christmas to look forward to, it is helping others.”

Steve and Cath christmas lights

Catherine and Steve from Spalding made all of their own decorations using 3D printing and used over 8,000 LED lights to bring their wonderful Christmas lights display to life. And they also synced the light extravaganza to music as well. They say the highlight to putting on this magnificent display was watching all the children walking home from school and stopping to admire the music and lights. (above left)

Jackie and Sean from Grimsby have gone above and beyond with their Christmas lights display this year. They aren’t your normal Christmas lights either; they are computerised and dance to the music. If that wasn’t enough, they hosted a raffle along with Santa in the grotto for visits and gifts!

Jackie said: “We put the lights up to raise money for charity. This year we’ve chosen Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance as my husband had an accident this year and the air ambulance was called. Luckily, he wasn’t bad enough to need it, so we decided to do it for something that would have helped us this year.”  (above right).

Geoff and val christmas lights

Geoff and Diane’s Christmas lights display lit up the whole of Fiskerton in Nottinghamshire this Christmas. They have been decorating their house for 10 years and each year there are new additions to the display. Geoff has even created a bespoke LNAA replica helicopter along with yellow lights. An absolutely stunning display! (above left).

And finally, Andy and Joy put a smile on everyone’s faces who visited their Christmas lights display this December. Each decoration tells a different story, whether it be the snowmen ice skating on the lake, the wonderful deer family nestled among the evergreens or the elegant swans shining bright. They have taken over both front and back gardens with inviting lights everywhere. (above right).
