A mega mining thanks to all at Lhoist for raising over £2,000 for Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance throughout the summer of 2022.  Lhoist has sites around the globe, but staff wanted to fundraise for a charity local to one of their sites.

The fundraisers were invited to a recent support day at LNAA HQ where they were given a tour of the base and met pilots, doctors and paramedics who explained how important their donation is to the running of the charity.

The LNAA is one of the UK’s leading Helicopter Emergency Service (HEMS) Charities, funded purely by generous donations.  The enhanced level of pre-hospital critical care delivered to patients at the scene gives people with the most severe injuries and medical conditions the very best chance of survival when minutes matter. And with the crews on call 24 hours of the day, 365 days of the year, the highly skilled doctors, paramedics and pilots are there to help people across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, involved in life-threatening incidents every single day.

Vital for quick assistance should the need arise.

Operations Manager, Stuart Pogmore said: “We appreciate the services Air Ambulance charities do for the country as a whole and so we chose to give to Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance as it serves the area around our site at Whitwell, near Worksop.” Lhoist has 3 other sites in the UK, Hindlow – Buxton Derbyshire, Hartley – Kirkby Stephen Cumbria and Thrislington – Ferryhill County Durham. The remote location of these sites means the speed in which Air Ambulances can get to an incident at one of our sites is vital for quick assistance should the need arise.”

During the year, staff worldwide completed a series of activities whether, walking, jogging, or sporting activities with family and friends. Each activity scored points which were then converted into cash! A total of 38k euros was raised and divided amongst 15 charities in 14 countries across the world.  The UK team covered a total of 5,000km, which converted to £2,092.  No mean feat when we remember the heatwave that the country was enduring!
