How to leave a gift in your Will

Your Will is your chance to take care of everything that’s important to you, family and loved ones obviously always come first. Many people believe that writing a Will is complicated, but in fact it’s relatively straightforward. When making or updating your Will you should always seek professional advice.

Before making a Will, you will need to think about the following:

  • Choose your executors. These are the people who will ensure the wishes in your Will are carried out.
  • Estimate the value of your estate. For example, property, saving, pensions, insurance policies and bank accounts.
  • Decide where you would like your money to go. Having a Will gives you the chance to take care of everyone who is important to you. You may then decide to leave a gift to a cause close to your heart.

A solicitor will be able to advise you on leaving charitable gifts when making a Will. The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance partner with the National Free Wills Network to offer our supporters the opportunity to write a Will for free.
