Sharp shooters of Tetford raise money for local air ambulance
31st January 2019
A Charity clay pigeon shoot near Louth has raised £250 for the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.
Generously hosted by the White Hart Inn in Tetford, customers and local supporters were invited to take part in the shoot, which was held at the beginning of January.
A cheque for £250 was presented by Richard Stockdale, Landlord of the White Hart Inn, to Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance volunteer and former Trustee, Paul Croft, alongside members of the shoot.
Following the cheque presentation, Mr Stockdale said: “Everyone at the White Hart Inn very much values this important life-saving service, and we are keen to continue supporting the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance by hosting many more fundraising events.”
Mr Stockdale’s previous fundraising efforts include giving up alcohol for one month, where he managed to raise over £1,000 for the Charity.
The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance is called out to around 1,000 medical emergencies each year, with each potentially life-saving mission costing approximately £2,500. The Charity receives no direct government funding, meaning they are totally reliant on the support and generosity of local individuals, groups and businesses.
Karen Jobling, Chief Executive Officer at the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, said: “We would like to thank everyone involved, who both organised and attended this event.
“We are incredibly grateful for Mr Stockdale’s ongoing support. We literally could not continue to do what we do without the generosity of people within our local communities.
“We are extremely grateful for every donation we receive. Every penny really does help us to keep our Ambucopter in the sky and continue saving lives across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.”
PUTTING THE ‘FUN’ IN FUNDRAISING
In order to raise the £2.5 million that is needed each year to help keep their Ambucopter flying, the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance are involved in over 700 fundraising events every year.
There are many ways that fundraisers can help support the life-saving service and raise money for the Charity, whether that be signing up to a long-distance run, hosting a cake sale or by giving up something they love!
