Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance receive generous donation of brand-new tights

The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance have received a generous donation of 7,000 brand-new pairs of tights from an international hosiery company.

The black opaque women’s tights, which were kindly gifted by the Golden Lady, are currently on sale at the Charity’s retail shops to help raise vital funds for the local Air Ambulance.

Dawn Marson, who is based at the Golden Lady’s Head Office in Nottingham, arranged the generous donation to the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.  She said: “We were delighted to be asked to help a worthy local charity.

“We wish the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance well with the sales of the tights and hope it helps to save more lives.”

The crew at Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance are called out to around 1,000 emergencies each year, with each mission costing approximately £2,500.  The Charity will benefit from money raised by selling these tights, which are currently on sale for £1 a pack.

Sally Thomas, Head of Retail at the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, said: “We often receive a whole host of large clothing donations, but nothing quite on this scale!  With thanks to the generosity of staff at Golden Lady, we could potentially raise an incredible £7,000 through the sale of these tights, which will help us to keep our life-saving helicopter flying in the skies.

“We are extremely grateful for every donation that we receive.  As a charity we receive no direct Government funding, so every penny really does make a difference and helps us to save even more lives every single day of the year.”

The tights are available from the Charity’s ten retail shops across Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire.  You can find out where your nearest Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance Charity shop is by visiting the website at
