JTF provides much-needed energy bars and water for crew
23rd July 2018
Here at the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, we know that emergencies can happen at any time, which is why this year we are expanding our Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) operation from 12 hours a day (7am to 7pm) to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our Ambucopter and crew are often called out to missions back-to-back meaning our Pilots, Paramedics and Doctors can find themselves without a meal or water. Local wholesaler JTF, which already does an amazing job supporting our Charity, came to their aid and offered to donate ‘on the go’ energy bars and bottled water.
Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance Fundraising Manager, Gemma Shaw, said: “As a Charity, we don’t receive any direct government funding, so rely on support and generosity of the communities we serve for support. When you see the Ambucopter flying it is going out to the most severe incidents and accidents and saving the people we care about. Providing energy bars and water for our crew will make a huge difference to them on the days when they go from mission to mission without returning to base. A huge thankyou to JTF for their continued support.”
JTF Store Manager, Kevin Bone, added: “Our chosen Charity, the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, is such a worthwhile cause and we are very proud to be able to support the crew in such a direct way. By supplying energy bars and bottles of water, free of charge to the crew, we can ensure they are able to grab something quickly and keep them going when they are needed most.”
The partnership with JTF is extremely valuable to our Charity. The business and its staff support us in a number of ways, from donating raffle prizes and putting collection tins at their tills, to this new direct support for our Crew.
