Who we are
Every year we need to raise £2.1 million to keep our Air Ambulance flying. To date, with the generous support of our local communities this has been possible.
Our Charity Team is based at two offices, our Head Quarters in Bracebridge Heath in Lincolnshire, just down the road from RAF Waddington where our Helicopter and crew are based; and Colwick in Nottingham.
In Bracebridge Heath there are currently 18 members of staff, covering the whole of Lincolnshire from Grimsby down to Long Sutton.
Roles include CEO Karen Jobling, Deputy CEO Sally Crawford, Lincs Fundraising Manager Emma Thorpe, Finance Manager Debbie Laking and many other fantastic people covering our lottery, shops, fundraising, charity collections, accounts and administration.
In Colwick, there are 10 staff including Notts Fundraising Manager Jim Vickrage, along with other great support for our shops, fundraising, charity collections and administration.
Our Helicopter is based at RAF Waddington, south of Lincoln. The base is unaffected by road congestion, country roads, heavy vehicles or road works. Our helicopter, which we affectionately call our Ambucopter, is fully equipped and staffed by a pilot, two paramedics, and often a doctor. This service literally makes the difference between life and death.
Our volunteers are our lifeline. We wouldn’t be where we are without them. From managing our shops, attending press and fundraising events, to making talks and presentations, they keep our Ambucopter flying. Our Trustees are all Volunteers too.
