Lincoln BIG has revealed that Fashion Week 2018 will be a high-flying affair – in more ways than one!
Not only will the week-long extravaganza, which runs from May 4 to 11, have an aviation twist in celebration of the Centenary of the Royal Air Force (RAF100), this year it is reaching new heights after choosing a special charity partner.
Head of Lincoln Fashion Week (LFW) Jess Wickham said: “We thought it would be great to have a “not-for-profit” partner on board this year to bring an extra dimension to this popular event, which is now in its third year. Our invitation to charities to get in touch led to a rush of responses and, after interviewing each prospective partner, we are thrilled to announce that The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance was successful.
“The Charity does an amazing job. Its Ambucopter can reach any point within the two counties in less than 20 minutes and can take a patient to the nearest hospital in as little as 8 minutes. The helicopter responds to some of the most serious 999 calls 365 days a year, but it needs to find £2.5 million every year to keep flying.
“We are delighted to announce that the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, which does so much work in saving lives in Lincolnshire – when every minute counts – will benefit by receiving 50 per cent of our ticket sales.”
We will work with Lincoln BIG, alongside sponsors The Waterside Shopping Centre, St Marks Retail Park and motor dealership Pentagon.
Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance Head of Fundraising & Communications, Sally Crawford, said: “Through our network of shops across the county we’re passionate about helping people feel great as well as look good on a budget, which is why we decided to apply.
“We felt that the Charity was the “model” partner for this fantastic event, and we are absolutely thrilled to have been chosen!
“As the demand for our helicopter emergency medical services continues to grow, it’s more important than ever for the public to support us and help us raise the vital funds to keep our Ambucopter flying and saving even more lives.”
Lots more is happening behind the scenes to ensure Lincoln Fashion Week is a fantastic success – and that includes the recruitment of models who will have the chance to showcase everything from designer fashion to charity shop bargains, along with the latest trends in hair, beauty and accessories.
