FUNDRAISING PROJECTS, EVENTS & PRESENTATIONS
Almost all of our income comes from the community. During the year, we are involved in approximately eight hundred fundraising events taking place in the county of Lincolnshire alone.
We are a small team and we need all the help we can get to raise the £1.7 million required to fly the helicopter.
If you and/or your group are thinking of fundraising for us or would like a talk, we would love to hear from you but please make sure you let us know about your plans in plenty of time. If you would like a representative to attend or a stall selling our merchandise, ideally we need at least 2 months notice.

GUIDELINES
For those of you who are organising an event or taking up a challenge, here are a few guidelines which are designed to start you on your journey:
To start you off:
- We will issue you with a Letter of Authority to fundraise on our behalf.
- Provide you with sponsorship forms if required
To help you promote your event:
- We can post it on our web site
- Send you posters
Publicity:
- You will need to contact your local radio, newspapers & TV. Don’t be afraid, they are usually receptive to groups and individuals in the community.
For the day we can provide:
- Collecting boxes
- Banner
- T Shirts to make you stand out from the crowd.
THE NEXT STEP:
Please take the time to read through the next section which is designed to keep you on the right path. This is NOT a legal document but there are some things you need to know.
Licences
- To collect money or sell goods in a public place, you need a licence from the local council. If your project takes you through different locations, this may involve several councils.
- We do not wish people to participate in door to door collecting.
- Events on private property require written permission of the owner or manager.
Raffles
- If you are considering holding a raffle, there are a few things you need to know. For raffles held in one location on one day only, you may use cloakroom tickets. For raffles where tickets are sold over a period of time in one or more locations, then printed tickets must be used and a licence obtained. Please CONTACT US to find out more 01522 548469.
Ticket Sales
- We are not able to sell tickets or raffle tickets for your events but we can add your event details to our web site.
Prizes
- Your Letter of Authority will give you an introduction to local shops and businesses for prizes to raffle or auction. We have a huge demand for these items and we are simply not in a position to supply any.
Health & Safety… Have FUN but stay healthy and safe….
The Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance cannot accept responsibility for your event so make sure you keep within the law. You must comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act of 1974 which applies to everyone, not just employees. For more information go to: www.hse.gov.uk
You will need to do a risk assessment. We cannot stress enough how important it is to ensure all risks are assessed for fundraisers & spectators (particularly children) and that all equipment has been tested and maintained to the required standard.
Insurance
The organiser/promoter will need some form of insurance, Check with the owner of the location/facilities and with any third party to check if you are covered – you may need to take out your own cover.
BANKING
Cheques should be made payable to Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance Charitable Trust or L.N.A.A.C.T.
If you wish to make a BACS payment please telephone Head Office 01522 548469
WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED
We are delighted that people are prepared to give their time and talents to work hard on our behalf, so please, please contact us again to let us know how you got on.
When you are ready, we will be delighted to organise a formal presentation with you. Again, please bear in mind we do need as much notice as possible. We do understand that it takes time to collect sponsorship money, so don’t feel pressurised.

Mrs V M Chambers
Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance
